Canva . . . Get it now.


One of the best tools for social media, promotion and marketing types is Canva. So, what is it? Canva makes DIY graphics design very easy (e.g. I created the graphic above in less than 60 seconds on my tablet). Is it the most sophisticated image I’ve ever created? No, but I could have spent 10 minutes and had a much more slick and sophisticated graphic. The point, is that this tool will allow you to quickly and efficiently create graphics for both print and electronic distribution. Find out more on this write-up on CNET.

Bikes, Libraries, and Outreach

For around $1,000 a library can purchase a bike repair station. This is a great way to build rapport with both the cycling community, and the neighborhood at large. Some recent examples of  public libraries that have installed bicycle repair stations are; Albany Public Library, King County Libraries (Washington), and the District of Columbia Public Library.
